Hypothermia Alert Issued Thursday For Montgomery County
Expect the wind chill to be below 32 degrees Thursday, according to Montgomery County officials.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A hypothermia alert has been issued for Montgomery County from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday.
According to county officials, the wind chill is expected to be below 32 degrees, creating a hazardous situation in which hypothermia and frostbite are likely.
Because hypothermia can affect the brain, county officials said a person may not be aware that it is happening. Warning signs include:

- Shivering, exhaustion
- Confusion, fumbling hands
- Memory loss, slurred speech
- Drowsiness
