Ice Rinks, Indoor Tennis Centers Reopen In Montgomery County
Montgomery Parks has reopened its ice rinks, indoor tennis centers, and sports pavilion — with restrictions.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County's ice rinks, indoor tennis centers, and sports pavilion are now open to the public, with restrictions.
Montgomery Parks reopened these facilities on Monday — nearly four months after the public health crisis forced officials to shut them down.
Social distancing, mask requirements, capacity caps, and other precautionary measures are in place to help stem the spread of COVID-19.

Here's how it shakes out for Montgomery County residents:
- Cabin John Ice Rink and Wheaton Ice Arena are only open for individual athletic training
- No public skating sessions
- Limited opportunities for freestyle and hockey training
- The Wheaton Sports Pavilion, as well as the indoor tennis centers at Wheaton Regional Park and Cabin John Regional Park, are taking reservations
- Reservations should be made by phone or online using credit/debit cards
- Showers and locker rooms are closed
