Cops Identify Man Killed In Silver Spring Car Wreck Monday
Marcial Bonilla Sanchez, age 40 of Silver Spring, was killed in the car accident. His passenger, a 37-year-old man, was injured.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A 40-year-old man was killed after he attempted to pass the car in front of him in a no-pass zone on Fairland Road in Silver Spring early Monday morning, Montgomery County Police said.
Marcial Bonilla Sanchez, of Silver Spring, was driving a Chevrolet Express van and hit the Accord in front of him as he attempted to pas which caused him to lost control of the van, hit a road sign, curb and several trees before rolling over, police said.
The crash happened around 1:45 a.m., and police say they think the Express van's passenger was trapped in the van and Sanchez was ejected. The passenger was a 37-year-old man who was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said. The driver of the Accord, 21-year-old Robentz Timogene of Silver Spring, was not injured.

Police said they are investigating if alcohol or speed were factors in the Express van driver's crash.
Fairland Road was closed between Serpentine Way and Tamarack Road, but reopened around 8:45 a.m., according to WTOP Traffic.
