Man Shoots Mom, Kills Himself In Silver Spring
A Bethesda man is accused of murdering his mother before shooting himself at her Silver Spring apartment, police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Bethesda man is accused of murdering his mother before shooting himself at her Silver Spring apartment Wednesday night, police said.
Police were called to the 1400 block of Fenwick Lane for the report of an assault at about 8:45 p.m.
Officers located Garvey Dyer, 61, of Bethesda Avenue dead inside the apartment from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

Police then located the victim—Rose Dyer, 88, of Fenwick Lane—deceased in the home from a gunshot wound.
Family contacted police after learning that Dyer had gone to his mother’s home, police said.
