Man Struck And Killed On Piney Branch Road: Police
A man was struck and killed walking on Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring, police said.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A man was struck and killed walking on Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring early Saturday morning, police said. The victim is identified as Inmar Alejan Garmendez-Escobar, 30, of an unconfirmed address.
Police responded to Piney Branch Road at Garland Avenue for the report of a pedestrian involved personal injury collision at about 1:07 a.m.
Investigation revealed a 2009 Toyota Corolla struck Garmendez-Escobar, who was lying on the pavement in the roadway. Police believe Garmendez-Escobar suffered an injury before he was hit by the Toyota, which is why he was lying in the street.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota were not injured., police said.
