SILVER SPRING, MD — Firefighters removed bricks from a chimney in a Silver Spring home in order to rescue a man who was stuck inside on Saturday, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer tweeted.

Though it's unclear how the man got into the chimney, a Montgomery County Police spokesperson told WTOP they believe he was trying to rob the home when he got stuck.

ABC News reported that the family could hear banging and a human voice coming from somewhere in their fireplace, prompting them to call police.
