Missing Silver Spring Man Found Dead in Hanover
A body discovered by a passerby was identified as Manuel Enrique Diaz Gomez of Silver Spring.

A Montgomery County man who was missing for a nearly a week was found dead in Hanover on Sunday.
The body of 37-year-old Manuel Enrique Diaz Gomez of Silver Spring was found Sunday by a passerby walking along Race Road near Park Circle Drive, according to Montgomery County Police.
Police say the death is suspicious and are investigating it as a homicide, according to Montgomery County Police Department spokesman Capt. Paul Starks.

Gomez's family members reported him missing on Oct. 31. They told police they hadn't been in contact with him since 11 a.m., Oct. 27.
“Because the last contact with family was Oct. 27, he’s declared missing [Oct. 31] and he turns up dead in an industrial area, that piques everybody’s attention,” Starks said.

Upon its discovery, Anne Arundel County Police identified the body and notified Montgomery County Police.
Gomez’s body was transported to Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the manner of his death, police said.
