Montgomery County Libraries Welcomes NYT Bestselling Author

SILVER SPRING, MD — New York Times bestselling author Lisa See will be joining Montgomery County Public Libraries for a free virtual "Meet the Author" event on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m.

See will discuss her latest work, "The Island of Sea Women," which was recently selected for the 2020 One Maryland One Book program.

Maryland Humanities created One Maryland One Book with the goal of uniting people through the shared experience of reading the same book.

Her book, "The Island of Sea Women," is about two girls living on the Korean island of Jeju, and their introduction into the world of haenyeo, the village's all-female diving group.

"We are delighted to host such a celebrated author," said MCPL Director Anita Vassallo. "We are looking forward to discussing her book which is being read across Maryland."
