Montgomery County Police Arrest Man on Gun, Drug Charges

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A man from Washington D.C. is facing gun and drug charges following his recent arrest.

Raycoldo Brandon Jr., 23, has been charged with possessing controlled dangerous substances and a firearm, the Montgomery County Police Department said.

On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, around 10 p.m., police said they were patrolling the Glenmont Shopping Center in Silver Spring when they saw a white 2014 Mercedes Benz with expired registration and conducted a traffic stop.

Officers said they approached the car and smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside it. Brandon was identified as the driver.

Police said a search of the car revealed marijuana and oxycodone. The search also revealed a Ruger AR556 pistol, which was converted to fire 9 mm rounds and an extended magazine.

Brandon, Jr. was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit. The investigation remains ongoing police said.
