Motorcycle Fire Backs Up Traffic
Montgomery County firefighters blocked two lanes to direct traffic away from the fire.
Smoke filled the roadways on Georgia Avenue after a motorcycle engulfed in flames around 4 p.m on Sunday, May 15. The owner of the bike, Wayne Allan, said he was working on the motorcycle and was taking it for a test ride when it erupted into flames at a stop light on the northbound exit ramp from the Beltway to Georgia Avenue.
"It caught on fire so I jumped off," Allan said.
Montgomery County firefighters from Station 19 off of Seminary Road extinguished the flames and blocked two lanes of traffic so that vehicles could safely get around the incident.
