Attempted Sexual Assault Prompts Police To Ask For Home Surveillance Video

An attempted sexual assault in Silver Spring has prompted Montgomery County Police to ask for home surveillance video of the suspect.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Investigators are asking for the public's help finding a man suspected of trying to sexually assault a woman in her Silver Spring home.

Montgomery County Police said the attack happened about 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, as the female victim entered her home in the 9200 block of Second Avenue. The suspect confronted the victim, entered her home, began to physically assault her and attempted to sexually assault the woman. She fought back, and the suspect ran from the home.

Officers searched for the suspect, but did not find him. The assailant is described as a Black male, between 5-feet, 10 inches and 5-feet, 11-inches tall; about 20 years old; with a thin build and wearing dark clothing.

Detectives are asking for neighbors with home security cameras, who may have captured images of the suspect, to call 240-773-5050.
