Robberies and Burglaries Reported in Silver Spring
A look at the crime reported in Silver Spring Jan. 30 to Feb. 7, 2012.

Robberies and burglaries were the most common type of crime reported during the first week of February.
From Jan. 30 to Feb. 7, Montgomery County Police reported the following crimes:
Robbery:

1100 block of Fidler Lane: On Monday, Feb. 6 at 5:50 p.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and removed property. Two Silver Spring men were arrested.
Unit block of University Boulevard: On Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 2:39 p.m. The suspect approached the juvenile male victim, pushed him to the ground and removed his iPod before fleeing on foot.

7600 block of Eastern Avenue: On Friday, Feb. 3 at 1:16 a.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and removed property.
800 block of Silver Spring Avenue: A strong-arm robbery occurred on Monday, Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m. The suspect attempted to forcefully remove property from the victim, but was unsuccessful.
500 block of Thayer Avenue: An attempted robbery occurred on Friday, Feb. 3 at 2 a.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and attempted to remove property.
Residential Burglary:
8200 block of Nolte Avenue: On Monday, Feb. 6 between 9 a.m. and 3:15. p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
2400 block of Dexter Avenue: On Monday, Feb. 6 at 1:01 a.m. There was forced entry, but nothing was taken.
10300 block of Brunswick Avenue: On Thursday, Feb. 2 between 9 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
100 block of E. Indian Springs Drive: In Silver Spring, between Thursday, Feb. 2 at 9 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 3 at 12:15 p.m. There was an unforced entry and nothing was taken.
Commercial Burglary:
Headliners Barbers located at 946 Wayne Avenue: In Silver Spring, between 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31 and 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
Convenience Express located at 948 Wayne Ave.: In Silver Spring, between 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31 and 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1. There was an attempted forced entry, but nothing was taken.
Lafonda Bakery located at 7914 Georgia Ave.: In Silver Spring, between 4:35 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Ther was a forced entry; and property was taken.
Maria’s Hair Salon and Monica’s Travels located at 920 University Blvd.: In Silver Spring, between 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2 and 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3. There was a forced entry and property was taken in both cases.
