Route 29 Closed Due to Fatal Crash

One person is dead and part of US Route 29 is closed Tuesday after a fatal crash just inside the Montgomery County line, according to Montgomery County police. 

A 26-year-old motorcycle driver was killed, said Capt. Paul Starks, a Montgomery County police spokesman. Preliminary findings indicate that there were no other vehicles involved, Starks said. Police are still investigating.

Montgomery and Howard County police are working together on traffic control, Stark said. All southbound traffic is being diverted at the Montgomery County—Howard County line. 

Stark said he’s “hoping” the road will reopen by 5:30 p.m.
