Silver Spring Stage Production Named Outstanding Play At WATCH Awards

SILVER SPRING, MD — Silver Spring Stage took home three awards Sunday night at the 2023 Washington Area Theatre Community Honors Awards ceremony at the The Birchmere in Alexandria.

All three of the Silver Spring Stage's awards were for its production of "Perfect Arrangement," which was named the outstanding play on Sunday night. The following is a list of Silver Spring theatre company's awards:

• Outstanding Direction of a Play – Leigh K. Rawls – "Perfect Arrangement"
• Leta Hall Outstanding Ensemble in a Play – "Perfect Arrangement"
• Outstanding Play – "Perfect Arrangement"

When the nominations for 2023 WATCH Awards were announced in January, the Silver Spring Theatre received 15 nominations, one for its production of

"An Empty Plate in the Cafe du Grand Boeuf," five for "Native Gardens" and 9 for "Perfect Arrangement."

Reston Community Players was the big winner racking up a combined total of 13 awards for its productions of "A Little Night Music," "The Game's A Foot" and "Bright Star." The company with the next highest number of awards was The Arlington Players, which brought home six awards.
