Silver Spring Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Crosswalk

Sharon Lanette Adams, a 50-year-old Silver Spring resident, was hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk on Georgia Avenue in Wheaton.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A 50-year-old woman died after she was hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk on Georgia Avenue in Wheaton last week, Montgomery County Police said.

Sharon Lanette Adams was crossing at Mason Street on the morning of Nov. 19 when she was hit by blue 2006 Toyota Camry traveling south on Georgia Avenue. She was taken to the hospital, where she died.

Police say the driver of the Camry was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, police said. They did not say in the news release if the driver would be charged. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
