Springvale Terrace Resident Turns 105 Years Old
She encourages everyone to reach 100 years old.
It was a wonderful celebration Tuesday at in Silver Spring as resident Gertrude Everett celebrated her 105th birthday with a gala party.
Born Oct. 4, 1906, Everett has been a resident of Springvale Terrace in 2007, which is located at 8505 Springvale Road. She continues to reside in her original residential apartment receiving Personal Care Services through the Congregate Housing Support Program (CHSP) of the Maryland Department of Aging.
When asked how it felt to be 105, Everett declared, “Everyone should shoot to be 100!”

When asked what advice she had for seeking to live long lives she replied, “Live one day at a time,” said Springvale Terrace Administrator Mark Gottlieb. “This is a milestone for us at Springvale Terrace. It was a real delight!”
