Tacos, Tortas & Tequila To Open In Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, MD — Ivan Iricanin — the restaurateur behind the famed Balkan restaurant Ambar in D.C. and Arlington — is planning to open a new restaurant in Silver Spring, according to reports.

Bethesda Magazine says Iricanin is planning to open one restaurant with two different concepts: Tacos, Tortas & Tequila (TTT) and Buena Vida.

TTT will sell “authentic meets modern” Mexican dinners on the first floor. Diners can expect a cheaper and more casual feel, with tacos ranging from $3-5 and tortas and quesadillas for $7-12. TTT will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Buena Vida, on the second floor, will focus on unlimited small-plates for dinner and brunch, similar to Ambar. Diners can enjoy unlimited small-plates for dinner for $35, and $39 for bottomless brunch on the weekend.

"I see a lot of demand for breakfast, but not everyone is doing it even in D.C.," Iricanin told Washington City Paper. "Not everyone has the courage to go into breakfast. But being near the Metro, I expect a lot of workers to come through. The breakfast tacos are $2.50 or $3. Mexican food should be affordable ... That’s why everyone’s eating it."

The restaurant is set to open in April in the former space of 8407 Kitchen Bar, located at 8407 Ramsey Ave., right near the metro.
