Toddler Falls From 15th Floor Of MD Apartment Building, Survives With Broken Leg

SILVER SPRING, MD — A toddler who miraculously survived a fall from the 15th floor of a Silver Spring apartment building suffered a broken leg and multiple internal injuries, police said.

Authorities said the boy's injuries are not life-threatening and he is expected to recover, medical staff said, according to WBAL. He plunged from the balcony of a White Oak apartment complex,

Montgomery County police and fire crews responded to the 11200 block of Oak Leaf Drive shortly after 2:10 p.m. Thursday after receiving a call about a 2-year-old boy who fell from the apartment's 15th floor.

When authorities arrived, they discovered the boy had fallen from a balcony and landed in the bushes below.

The child was taken to an area hospital with what police then described as minor injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

According to police, no criminal charges have been filed at this time. Additional information may be released as it becomes available.
