Turkey Fryer On Fire Causes $20K Of Damage At Apartment Complex
A turkey fryer on fire caused about $20,000 in damage and displaced one family from an apartment in Silver Spring, officials said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A turkey fryer that caught on fire caused about $20,000 in damage at an apartment in Silver Spring Thursday night, officials said.
About 45 firefighters responded to the three-story apartment building at 1702 Mt. Piscah Rd. at about 8 p.m.
Firefighters saw a fire on the second floor and determined a turkey fryer was the likely source. Spokesperson Pete Piringer said a resident was cooking on the balcony.

The fire caused "moderate damage" and one family was displaced, Piringer said.
