SILVER SPRING, MD — Morning commuters in Silver Spring encountered delays on Wednesday morning, as crews continued to repair a broken water main, according to Twitter post by the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue's public information officer.

Work crews were on the scene around 4:30 a.m., on Wednesday to fix a water main break northbound on Georgia Avenue between Thayer Avenue and Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring. Some lanes are blocked and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

The water main break was first reported just before 1 a.m., on Wednesday.
