Eisa Gouredou, a Silver Spring resident and member of the Maryland Writers Association, is preparing her debut novel, In the Shadow of Dreams. The story, set in Miami, follows two young French women chasing their American dream. While the book is not yet published, Eisa is a local creative voice whose story could make a compelling feature for Patch, highlighting the vibrant arts and literary talent in our community.

A woman sustained minor injuries after a tree fell on the vehicle she was inside of Wednesday afternoon, according to a spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue. The tree came down in the 2900 block of New Castle Avenue in Silver Spring around 3 p.m. March 6. Two people were inside of the vehicle, but the second occupant was uninjured.  The victim was treated at a local hospital.

The victim sustained minor injuries, fire and rescue officials said.
