3 MA Sandwich Shops Among 100 Best In America, New Ranking Says

MASSACHUSETTS — If you didn’t already know, August is National Sandwich Month. If you want to observe it by chowing down on some of the best handhelds in America, three sandwich shops in Massachusetts get strong customer reviews.

The places in Massachusetts that made Yelp’s review-based list of the Top 100 Sandwich Shops and their ranking nationally are:

• 37. Maes Sandwich Shop, Marshfield, Massachusetts
• 75. Family Delicatessen, Maynard, Massachusetts
• 98. Drop Cafe, Haverhill, Massachusetts

In its inaugural Top 100 Sandwich Shops list, Yelp said affordable sandwiches are having a moment and are increasingly going gourmet. Yelp reviewers “love all the new house-made aiolis, chutneys, pâtés, and sauces these chefs are adding to their creations,” the site. “Diners also give high praise to unique, delicious toppings like pickled vegetables and olive tapenade, as well as the artisanal breads like fresh ciabatta, garlic bread, or pretzel buns.”

Google users also gave strong customer reviews to the Massachusetts sandwich shops. Here’s a sampling of what they had to say of:

"Such a cute vibey cafe !!! Lots of baked goodies and pastries to choose from! They also have important Greek pastries from Greece which I love ! The coffee was very good smooth tasting ! I’m looking forward to coming back here to try their pastries and sandwiches!"
