SOMERSET, MA — Actor Sacha Baron Cohen agreed Tuesday to drop the lawsuit he filed last summer against a Somerset cannabis dispensary.

Baron Cohen sued Solar Therapeutics in July 2021 for using an image of his character Borat on a billboard without permission. He was seeking $9 million in damages and said in the complaint that he "never would participate in an advertising campaign for cannabis."

The dispensary took the billboard down three days after receiving a cease-and-desist order from Baron Cohen's attorneys, according to the suit.

A Boston federal court filed a document dismissing the suit with prejudice this week, so Baron Cohen can't take any further legal action against the dispensary, WPRI reported. The filing did not mention a settlement.
