Gloucester Man Down On His Luck Wins $1 Million Scratch Ticket
After a serious injury from a car crash and a cancer diagnosis in the last two years, Brian Parisi was in need of some good luck.

GLOUCESTER, MA — Brian Parisi has gone through a lot in the last two years, in addition to the global pandemic, he sustained a significant injury in a car accident and was later diagnosed with cancer, last month, things finally turned around.
Parisi, from Gloucester, cashed in a $1 million prize from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "Double Your Money" scratch ticket on April 27.
The father of two boys says he plans to use a portion of his winnings to pay it forward to his family members as a thank you and show of support for all of his tougher times. He also says he plans to use some of his winnings for himself and sons.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Parisi chose to receive his price in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.
He also told the lottery that he intends to put some of his winnings towards replacing his brother-in-law's roof to "thank him for all that he has done for him during his trying times."

Parisi's lucky ticket was purchased at Ed's Mini Mart in Gloucester, which the lottery says will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
