MASSACHUSETTS — Ice cream sold in several Massachusetts grocery stores was recalled due to possible listeria contamination. The affected Batch Ice Cream was sold in Market Basket, Big Y and Roche Brothers Markets across the state.
16-ounce pints of vanilla, ginger and mocha chip ice cream were included in the recall. The affected products have a manufacture date of Jan. 19, 2022, a best by date of July 19, 2022 and the following UPCs.

- Ginger – 83765496856
- Mocha chip – 83765496853
So far, no illnesses have been reported. Listeria monocytogenes are organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

Royal Ice Cream issued the recall after the Food and Drug Administration found listeria on processing equipment.
Anyone with the recalled ice cream can return it to the point of purchase for a full refund. Call the company at 860-649-5358 with any questions.
