MA Eases Mask Guidance For Fully Vaccinated
DPH: Indoor masking is only necessary for vaccinated residents if they are at increased risk of severe disease or live with someone who is.

MASSACHUSETTS — The state Department of Public Health on Tuesday updated its face covering guidance for residents who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Health officials said wearing a mask indoors is only necessary for vaccinated residents if they have a weakened immune system, are at increased risk of severe disease because of their age or an underlying medical condition, or if someone in their household is at increased risk or is unvaccinated.
People who are not fully vaccinated should continue to wear a mask indoors, the DPH said.

Masking is required in certain settings statewide, including on public transportation and in health care facilities. Some communities have started easing their indoor masking requirements, while others still require face coverings in indoor settings like businesses, restaurants, fitness centers and entertainment venues.
People who have tested positive or are a close contact of someone with COVID-19 should follow the state's isolation and quarantine guidance, which includes wearing a mask in public for five days after leaving isolation, the DPH said.
