One MA Senator Is Among Most Popular In The U.S., Poll Says

A new Morning Consult poll found that Massachusetts residents have a more favorable view of top elected officials compared to April.

MASSACHUSETTS — U.S. Sens. Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren continue to be among the most popular in the nation, but Markey now has the distinction of being in the top 10 most popular, according to a new Morning Consult poll.

Morning Consult's quarterly favorability poll tracks the favorability of senators and governors. Markey jumped from No. 13 most popular in April to the No. 10 spot with 57 percent approval, and 26 percent disapproval.

Warren increased her favorability to 54 percent, up just slightly from 53 percent in Morning Consult's April poll. She was the 19th most popular senator overall.

Gov. Maura Healey, meanwhile, remained flat in her popularity at 59 percent. Healey's disapproval rating ticked up from 28 percent in April to 30 percent this quarter. She was the 14th most popular governor in the U.S. overall. Healey was the fourth most popular governor in New England behind Vermont Gov. Phil Scott, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu and Connective Gov. Ned Lamont.

The poll is based on three-month averages of monthly polling data.
