MA Snow Forecast: When It Will Arrive, How Much Will Fall
Forecasts call for up to 8 inches of snow in parts of the state this Friday.

MASSACHUSETTS — The much-promised first significant snowfall of the season is expected to land in Massachusetts this Friday.
Forecasts call for 4-8 inches of snow in parts of the state, which would mark the first time this winter many of us have had to grab our shovels and fire up the plows. And with many teachers already out sick, there's a chance districts could opt for a snow day.
According to the National Weather Service, the eastern Massachusetts corridor from the North Shore down to the start of the Cape has a 50-70 percent chance of getting more than 4 inches of snow. Further west, the likelihood of that much accumulation lessens.

Snow has eluded Massachusetts this season, particularly in its regular haunts – Nantucket saw its first inch Monday before Boston did. While the state continues to be well behind its average snowfall for early January, it should make up some ground by the weekend.

Friday
Snow, mainly before 3pm. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 34. Northwest wind 5 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches possible.
Worcester

Friday
Snow likely, mainly before 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Light north wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Beverly

Snow likely, mainly after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 29. West wind 7 to 9 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Friday
Snow, mainly before noon. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 34. Northwest wind 10 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
Plymouth

Friday

Provincetown
