Nor'easter Barreling Toward Massachusetts This Week
Forecasters are warning of 50-60 mile-per-hour wind gusts, 3-6 inches of rain and waves reaching higher than 20 feet.

A nor'easter — not the snowy kind — is expected to rock Massachusetts this week, bringing treacherous winds and several inches of rain to the area.
The slow-moving storm will get here as soon as Monday night and intensify Tuesday into Wednesday. Forecasters are warning of 50-60 mile-per-hour wind gusts, 3-6 inches of rain and waves reaching higher than 20 feet. High wind and flood watches are in effect for much of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The strongest winds and most significant rainfall will be in Eastern Massachusetts, but the entire state will feel this one.

The unusually warm, dry October is already starting to shift gears with a rainy Monday morning. Temperatures will sit in the 50s for much of the week; the National Weather Service said Sunday was the first day this month temperatures were below average.
The weather is expected to let up a bit for Halloween weekend, but little ghosts and ghouls will still have to contend with rain for local celebrations Friday and Saturday and trick-or-treating Sunday.
