One Killed, Six Seriously Injured In Head-On Crash In Townsend
All seven passengers from both cars were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and the driver of the sedan has since died.

TOWNSEND, MA — One person died and six others were seriously injured in a head-on collision crash on Main Street in Townsend on Monday.
Officers responded to the area of Route 119 near the intersection of Route 113 around 5:30 p.m. and found that two vehicles had crashed into each other head-on.
All seven passengers from both cars were brought to the hospital with serious injuries, two by helicopter and five by ambulance. On Tuesday, police said the driver of the sedan died from their injuries.

"One vehicle crossed the center line and struck another vehicle," Townsend police Sgt. George Reidy said. "We don't have an idea if it was distracted driving or maybe a medical condition that somebody suffered from."
So far none of the victims' names have been released.

A preliminary report from the investigation suggests that a sedan traveling westbound on Route 119 crossed the centerline and collided with an SUV traveling in the opposite direction, police said.
Main Street was closed for hours while crews worked to figure out how the crash happened.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan is working with the Townsend Police Department to investigate the crash further.
