U.S. Department of Education Opens Investigation Into MA

The Department of Education launched three investigations into Title IX violations, including one directed at Massachusetts.

MASSACHUSETTS - The U.S. Department of Education (DoE) today announced investigations into two educational institutions and athletic associations where Title IX violations have been reported, one of which is the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.

The investigations were opened just after President Donald Trump signed an executive order titled "Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports," and in the news release issued by the DoE there were three specific incidents cited as catalysts for the investigations.

The cited incident in the Commonwealth was when a girls' high school basketball team forfeited a game and claimed a male playing for the opposing female team reportedly injured three female players.
