MA Sets Date For DCR Pools To Open: 2024 Swimming Season

MASSACHUSETTS — The state Department of Conservation and Recreation opened its beaches and many spray pads over the Memorial Day weekend, but DCR's pools spread across the state will open later in the season.

For the 2024 season, DCR will open pools on June 22, and the facilities will remain open until Aug. 18. Each pool is open daily from 11:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., except for the Dennis Shine pool in Worcester, which closes at 5:45 p.m.

The state's three wading pools — Artesani in Brighton, Ryan in Mattapan and Bradley Palmer in Topsfield — will open earlier on June 15, and will remain open until Sept. 2. The wading pools are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

DCR will also open several interactive aquatic venues on June 22, including: Malden Holland, Allied Veterans in Everett, Latta in Somerville and one in Springfield. Those are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, and will remain open until Aug. 18.
