Arlington Arts Center To Highlight Older Musicians With Unique Concert

Eight artists will be featured in the event that spotlights older performers

ARLINGTON, MA — The Center for the Arts will host a unique musical showcase on Sunday, Dec. 8. “Stories To Tell: The Wisdom Of Lived Years” is a concert with the purpose of highlighting musicians aged 50 and older.

Singer-songwriter Linda Marks, of Waltham, was a driving force behind making the event a reality. Marks has experience with organizing concerts as the leader of the Boston/Northeast chapter of the International Singer Songwriter Association, and said that this particular event is motivated by her desire to make a positive impact on the artistic culture of Arlington and to emphasize that older musical artists are valuable and talented.

“As a lifelong musician myself, I can attest to how important it is to ensure that artists over age 50 are not cast aside or forgotten,” Marks said. “Especially since they are often in their prime songwriting years.”
