Arlington Begins Design Process For Robbins Farm Playground
The project funding was approved by the Community Preservation Act Committee and Town Meeting for $997,000 in August.

ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington’s Park and Recreation Commission is beginning the design process for Robbins Farm Playground with a public input meeting on Monday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
The Robbins Farm Playground project funding was approved by the Community Preservation Act Committee and Town Meeting for $997,000 in August. The Park Commission is now soliciting RFP’s for design services, with renovations anticipated for next spring.
The current playground was recently inspected due to reported playground safety concerns by residents. The results of this inspection dictated the immediate removal of certain pieces of equipment, including the following:

- The swing clamps on the elementary aged swing set were worn but replacement parts were ordered and the swings will be installed as soon as the parts arrive.
- The toddler wooden play house and the toddler swings were not salvageable and due to the pending capital project it is not fiscally prudent to replace these items until the renovation next spring.
- The slide remains closed and will be addressed as part of the renovation.
"Thank you to everyone for your patience,” the town said in a statement. "We look forward to your input in the upcoming design process for a renovated Robbins Farm playground.”
