Arlington Ranked Among Best Small Cities in America

Using several different metrics, Arlington was calculated to be among the top 500 small cities in the U.S.

Small towns usually do not get the recognition that big cities do. But at the end of the day, smaller cities usually give you more bang for your buck.

Massachusetts has a number of great small towns, including Arlington. Now, it is getting the recognition it deserves.

Wallethub.com compared 1,268 small cities in the U.S. to find the ones where residents don’t have to give up much. After all the calculations, Arlington was ranked the 366th best small city in the country.

The calculations included a total of 22 metrics, ranging from housing costs to school-system quality to the number of restaurants per capita. They also ranked it’s affordability, quality of life, education and health, and economic health.

The site says that Arlington ranks 1133rd in ”Affordability,” 457th in ”Economic Health,” 389th in ”Quality of Life,” and 118th in “Education and Health.”

Both Northampton and Milton checked in as the highest ranking Massachusetts cities, earning spots at No. 8 and 14 respectively.
