Arlington Stop and Shop Pedestrian Crash Under Investigation: Police
The incident involved two elderly pedestrians who were struck by a car in a Stop and Shop parking lot on Saturday.
ARLINGTON, MA –Two pedestrians were injured Saturday morning after they were struck by a car in a Stop and Shop parking lot.
Arlington Police Department Chief Julie Flaherty said the incident occurred at 10:16 a.m. on Saturday, May 27.
Police found that the driver responsible for the crash was an 87-year old man from Belmont. Police said he pulled into the Stop and Shop parking lot located at 905 Massachusetts Ave. and struck a parked car and exterior wall of the store, before backing up and striking two pedestrians. Those struck were a 61-year-old Arlington woman and a 70-year-old Randolph man. Both victims and the driver were taken to nearby hospitals. The owner of the parked vehicle, a Harwich woman, did not report injuries.
