Arlington's Flanagan a Finalist for Andover Town Manager Job

Arlington’s Assistant Town manager is a finalist for the Town Manager position in Andover.

Andrew P. Flanagan is one of two finalists for the Andover position, according to a report from the Lowell Sun.

The other finalist opposing Flanaga is Kendra Amaral, the Assistant Town Manager in Wilmington. Both are expected to be interviewed by selectmen later this summer.

Flanagan was hired as Arlington’s Assistant Town Manager in 2012 by a team that included: Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine, Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan, former Bedford Finance Director Peter Naum, former Arlington Library Director Maryellen Loud and Arlington Personnel Director Caryn Malloy, according to a 2012 report from Arlington Patch.

Prior to Flanagan’s selection as Arlington’s Assistant Town Manager, Chapdelaine was the town’s most recent deputy town manager.

The candidate selected will replace Andover’s former Town Administrator, Reginald “Buzz” Stapczynski who served in the role for more than two decades before retiring on June 30.
