Filmmaker Bringing Her Latest Feature To Arlington
Nicola Rose is a filmmaker who studied her craft in France.
ARLINGTON, MA — Independent Filmmaker Nicola Rose is coming to town for a screening of her latest feature presentation.
The Capitol Theatre on 204 Massachusetts Ave. will host a showing of “Magnetosphere” on Friday, Dec. 27 at 1 p.m. Following the movie, Rose will be in attendance for a question and answer session with attendees. The film centers around a child who is neurodivergent and also has the sensory condition known as synesthesia.
“In ‘Magnetosphere,’ it’s 1997. The Hale-Bopp Comet is passing by Earth, and Maggie Campion is a kid with a secret. She’s always known there was something different about her: she can see sounds and hear colors, and her senses do all sorts of other unusual things besides,” Rose said about the film’s narrative. “Maggie has always kept these things to herself. But when she moves across the country with her family… Maggie’s world is shaken.”
