ICYMI: File Minor Police Reports Online Now

Hit and run accidents, stolen bicycles, lost or stolen credit cards, vandalism - what else can you report online now?

Arlington Police Department has a new online reporting system.

“This online reporting system will allow Arlington Police Officers more time to address community needs while keeping pace with the public’s expectancy to complete services online,” Police Chief Frederick Ryan said in a statement. “I encourage residents to use the online system for minor incidents, and if you have any problems or questions regarding this service, please contact the police department.”

The from software is from a California-based company, Coplogic, Inc.

Upon submitting a report, residents will receive a case number and be able to print a temporary copy of their report which will be reviewed by the police department. Once approved, the resident will receive a copy of the approved report free of charge.

Approved reports will automatically be transferred into the Arlington Police Department’s records management system, and will receive the same investigation and statistical analysis ability as if the report had been filed by a police officer. If further investigation into a case is required, residents may be contacted by police.
