Police to Conduct Alcohol Compliance Checks of Local Establishments
The APD will conduct checks in the upcoming months.
ARLINGTON— The Arlington Police Department announced it will be conducting alcohol checks of local establishments, in partnership with the Arlington Youth Health and Safety Coalition (AYHSC). Chief Frederick Ryan Arlington Police Department made the announcement this afternoon online, and said the department will be completing alcohol compliance checks at local establishments licensed to sell alcohol in the upcoming months.
"We conduct these regular compliance checks in an effort to prevent the sale and consumption of alcohol to underage residents and to ensure that local licensees and their employees continue to be vigilant in obeying the law," Chief Ryan said. "We hope to find that all establishments in town are in compliance."
The AYHSC is currently using marketing strategies and coordinating student prevention clubs at Ottoson Middle School and Arlington High School to reduce the number of alcohol sales to underage students.
