Anticipation is building once again as people continue to shell out $2 bucks per Powerball ticket for a chance at the largest jackpot in U.S. history. There were no winners for the near $950 million jackpot drawing on Jan. 9.

The next Powerball drawing for the estimated $1.4 BILLION dollar jackpot will be 10:59 p.m. Wednesday. The jackpot soared to a record $1.4 billion after it started with a $40 million jackpot on Nov. 4. The cash payout for the prize would be about $868 million.

On Wednesday night, lottery officials will draw five white balls out of a drum with 69 balls, and one red ball out of a drum with 26 red balls to determine the numbers. The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls, in any order, and the red Powerball. But if you miss that coveted Powerball, you can still win a million dollars.
