Town of Arlington Hiring: Open Positions; Deadlines to Apply

ARLINGTON, MA - The Town of Arlington is accepting applications for a number of open positions.

• Highway Supervisor

Supervisory and administrative work in the oversight of public works operations including maintenance and repair relating to the town’s streets, sidewalks, snow and ice removal; all other related work, as required. Application deadline is Wednesday, Jan. 6.

• On-Call Librarian

On-Call Librarians, known as “Moonlighters” at the Robbins Library, provide reference services at the Adult Reference Desk on an intermittent basis to cover when permanent staff are absent due to illness or vacations. Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings or weekends.

• Recreation Summer Seasonal Positions

The number of positions is limited due to the number of returning employees. Applications will be received until Feb. 1 and then on an as needed bases.

• Tree Warden

Performs responsible duties requiring considerable initiative and independent judgment in the development and planning. Works closely with the Forestry and Park Supervisors in the execution of tree work, including the oversight of maintenance standards for public shade trees.
