ARLINGTON, MA — The Town of Arlington’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Year 49 Application is now available, according to the Department of Planning and Community Development,

Eligible applicants seeking funding for projects including affordable housing, economic development, parks, public facilities, infrastructure, and public services are invited to apply.

The funding period for this grant is July 1, 2023–June 30, 2024.

The application and guidelines are available at www.arlingtonma.gov/cdbg. Completed applications must be submitted to MJSullivan@town.arlington.ma.us or dropped off at the Department of Planning and Community Development in the Town Hall Annex by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023.

The CDBG Program was created in 1974 as part of Title I of the HCD ACT of 1974, as amended, and is run by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. CDBG provides annual grants on a formula basis to states, cities, and counties to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for people earning a low or moderate income.
