The Town of Arlington is pleased to announce the fourth round of the Arlington Emergency Tenant Assistance Program. This program provides rental assistance to income-eligible households that have been impacted by the economic instability caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The assistance program is funded through an additional allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds known as CDBG-CV, made possible by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and a grant from the Town of Arlington Community Preservation Act Committee. Additional information about the program is available at www.arlingtonma.gov/COVID19Assistance.

The Arlington Emergency Tenant Assistance Program is available for income-eligible individuals and families who rent in Arlington, who have a demonstrated gap in their income due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and who are at risk of losing their housing. The program provides up to $2,000 per eligible household for up to three months (maximum of $6,000), in a payment made directly to the landlord. To qualify, the household must earn at or below 50 percent of the area median income as determined by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Additionally, households that received assistance in the first, second, and/or third round of the program may apply again, but there is no guarantee that assistance will be granted.
The Arlington Emergency Tenant Assistance Program will begin accepting pre-applications on November 17, 2021 and will be open through December 3, 2021. All applications will be pre-screened for eligibility, and those applicants determined to be eligible will be invited to provide additional information necessary for consideration for assistance. Applicants will work with the staff in the Department of Planning and Community Development and our administrator, MCO Housing Services, to finalize their application prior to receiving assistance. Preference will be given to new applicants.
