Town-wide Parking Ban To Be Lifted 8 a.m. Thursday

The following is from the Town of Arlington.

Public Works continues major snow removal operations to open Arlington roads for safe passage. The Town-wide parking ban will be lifted Thursday, January 29 at 8 a.m.

Town hall administrative offices and libraries resume regular business hours January 29th.

When the parking restriction is lifted, the roadways will still be narrow and the Town reminds residents that cars are not to obstruct roadways in accordance to Traffic Rules and Orders, Article V Parking, Section 1 (e), which prohibits the parking of a vehicle “upon any roadway where the parking of a vehicle will not leave a clear and unobstructed lane at least ten (10) feet wide for passing traffic.” Not all streets can accommodate parking within this rule and parked cars violating this rule will be subject to ticketing and towing. Parked cars also impede snow removal operations. Please be cognizant of where you park your car.

Overnight parking between the hours of 1 a.m. – 5 a.m. is not allowed (except with permit). Cars parked in the Russell lot (without a permit) must be removed by noon on January 29.

Blizzard Trash/Recycling Collection Schedule

Residents on the Tuesday and Wednesday routes that were not collected this week are asked to hold their items until their scheduled collection day next week. Trash limits will be waived for these households next week.

Residents on the Thursday and Friday route will be collected as scheduled.

All residents are asked to place items securely by the curb to avoid tipping over and spilling.

The Town would like to thank public works and public safety personnel for their efforts during and after this storm. The Town would also like to thank residents and businesses for their continued support and understanding as we all clean up after this major snow event.
