Mural Uninstalled at Former Hancock Building

Black-and-white public art at 200 Clarendon comes down today.

Boston, MA - A pop of modern creativity in largely staid and traditional Copley Square is coming down Wednesday, according to the artist.

The pasted, black-and-white, mural was a source of intrigue and mystery when it first appeared on the side of the 60-story tower last fall. Deliberately secretive French street artist J.R. gave little away, even after his role in the temporary installation was revealed.

The public art, which spans multiple floors and depicts a male figure on a raft, was curated by Boston's Pedro Alonzo, courtesy building owners Boston Properties Inc.
