Cape Cod Brawl: 1 Stabbed, 1 Arrested, Police Say
Harwich police said a brawl on Main Street resulted in a stabbing and an arrest over the weekend.

HARWICH, MA — One person was stabbed and another was arrested following a brawl in Harwich Friday night, according to police. The fight happened in the area of Main Street and Pine Drive and was so loud residents called police at about 8:30 p.m.
"The Harwich Police Department received several 911 calls from the area of Main Street and Pine Drive reporting a large fight in the street and the sound of gunshots," Harwich police said in a statement. "Harwich Police Officers as well as Dennis Police Officers and Massachusetts State Troopers responded to the scene and encountered a mostly uncooperative group of individuals. Several of these individuals had come from or were at a residence on Pine Drive."
As officers were at the scene, a 17-year-old male ran off into nearby woods after not following verbal commands by the officers, police said.

"During the foot pursuit, the male subject was seen throwing an item into the woods," police said. "The subject was captured and the object that was thrown into the woods was found to be a gun."
The 17-year-old was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. His identity and the identity of the stabbing victim were not released.

Police said the incident remained under investigation.
