Police Log: Smoke During Recess at Lane School

Tuesday, Jan. 29
8:51 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received several calls reporting the traffic signal at Great Road and Shawsheen Road were not cycling properly. The responding officer reported the lights were working.

12:41 p.m.- Police received a call requesting a well being check for a Springs Road resident. Officers checked the residence, but did not locate the individual. Police later confirmed the resident had been at a dentist appointment.
1:42 p.m.- Police received a call reporting Middlesex Community College students were parking on Fox Run Road. MCC Security was notified.Â

11:29 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a disable motor vehicle in front of 213 Burlington Road. The responding officer reported the vehicle was gone by the time he arrived in the area.
Wednesday, Jan. 30
12:03 a.m.- A Rodney Road resident called police to report a strange noise, possibly a doorbell ringing. The caller said she did not have a doorbell and would like an officer to check the area. The responding officer reported he checked the exterior of the house and found nothing.
4:07 a.m.- Police received a call reporting a car had crashed into the woods on Hartwell Road near South Road. The responding officer reported the vehicle had spun out, not crashed. The driver was uninjured and called AAA to winch the vehicle back onto the road.Â
9:11 a.m.- An officer reported they had recovered a wallet at McDonald's.Â
9:46 a.m.- Police responded to a car crash without injury near 516 Springs Road.
11:42 a.m.- Police responded to reports of an outside fire behind Job Lane School. The caller reported a large fire with lots of smoke. An officer confirmed the fire was from a controlled burn and the person who made the fire had a permit.Â
4:52 p.m.- Police responded to a report of a disable vehicle on Great Road at Orchard Road. The responding officer reported the vehicle was running when he arrived.
