The Soup-er Bowl, a look at Bedford TV's latest program and more in Bedford this past week.

 

Students at Lt. Job Lane Elementary School worked this week to raise 1,128 non-perishable food items for the Bedford Food Bank. Each class has a goal set of 47 items, in honor of Super Bowl XLVII. Check bank in with Bedford Patch next week for an update on whether Lane School met their goal.

Bedford-based iRobot's new Remote Presence VITA, or RP-VITA, will allow doctors and patients who are not in the same locale to connect remotely, with the robot possessing the ability to navigate the halls of a hospital on its own. Check out our video of the RP-VITA in action.

Governor Patrick submitted his $34.8 billion budget to the Legislature. The proposed income tax hike is part of a comprehensive package aimed at investing in the state's infrastructure and in driving growth, Patrick said. Both education aid and general government aid for Bedford increased for FY14 over FY13.

How did home and condo sales in Bedford do last month? How about in 2012 as a whole? A new report from The Warren Group indicates that sales of single-family homes and condos in Bedford are increasing compared to the numbers from 2011.
