Beverly Election 2019: Who Is Running?

BEVELRY, MA — Candidates in Beverly have until 5 p.m. on Aug. 6 to return signatures on their nomination papers to get their name on the ballot, and there are already several contested races shaping up. The mayor, all city councilors and all school committee members are up for reelection this year. Beverly's general election is on Nov. 5.

Beverly could have a preliminary election on Sept. 24 to narrow the field of candidates in Ward 3, where five would-be councilors have taken out nomination papers. Incumbent Ward 3 City Councilor James Latter is not running for reelection.

As of July 10, the following candidates had taken out nomination papers, according to Assistant City Clerk Lisa Kent. Candidates listed in bold type are up for reelection. An asterisk (*) signifies candidates who have returned their nomination papers and will be listed on the ballot.
